Dear B2B Families,
This week we went on a memorable trip to Southern Colorado. On Friday we wrapped up the week with our End of Week group in which we review our intentions for the week and talk about our goals and feelings going forward. Afterward, we listened to the plan for the weekend and packed for warm weather and fun in the water.
We went on a long drive that brought us through the four corner area and into Durango Colorado. We were cooped up from being in the car for 5 hours so we stopped at the river to swim. Everyone in the group jumped off the bridge into the cold water and feeling refreshed we made the final push to find our campsite high in the mountains near Silverton.
The following morning we rose early and made a large breakfast before we embarked on a strenuous hike to some beautiful high alpine lakes. We hiked along Ice Lakes trail and were met with many waterfalls and meadows of wildflowers. As we approached the top of the hike we were met with incredible views and beautiful rock walls. When we reached the top we all decided to dive into the icy cold lake. The hike down went quick and we were soon back to camp. It was afternoon so we decided to return to our familiar cliff jumping spot in Durango. While there we saw some locals do some ballsy flips off the bridge but we were satisfied with our accomplishments for the day. That night we played cards and read a story out of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous and shared how our story related.
Sunday we packed up the gear and left our beautiful campsite. We prepared for a day on the river and packed minimal gear for the 2 hour float. We floated down the river through town which included many fun whitewater sections. The last rapid was in a white water park called Santa Rita park. All of us were on inner tubes and we were quickly flipped. We were forced to swim the rest of the rapid and some friendly kayakers helped us rangle the loose tubes. We all laughed and recounted our experiences.
We then drove back to flag and cleaned our personal and group camping gear. We help our wrap up group and another weekend is in the books.
Love,
The B2B Boys
