Dear B2B Families,
This weekend we traveled to Sedona. The trip began Friday with our typical, end of the week “intentions” meeting. After breakfast and packing up the van, we hit the road and picked our campsite for the weekend which had plenty of space, a large fire pit, and a rushing stream nearby. Friday evening we enjoyed a pork taco dinner then gathered around the fire for our nightly meeting.
Saturday morning, much like every morning this past weekend, was chilly! We warmed up with breakfast burritos and coffee then got ready to hike. The hike started with a river crossing. Different people used specific strategies for crossing, and thankfully, no one fell in the creek. The rest of the hike was a steep climb through deep, fresh snowfall. After taking pictures of the beautiful Sedona landscape, we headed back to camp. The afternoon sun warmed our campsite, and we had plenty of free time for playing cards, rest, reading, and step work. After dinner we drove back to Sedona to attend an N.A. meeting, and a lot of us appreciated the speaker’s story. Saturday night we ended around the fire and celebrated a client’s birthday.
Our planned hike on Sunday was a little shorter, so we were able to start that morning at a slower pace. This allowed us to spend some time around the fire, drying out our boots and cooking some breakfast sandwiches. We drove into Sedona again to hike up to Snoopy’s Rock. The hike was warm and a more relaxed climb compared to Saturday. At the top, we scrambled up the rock face to take in the views and snap a group picture. We spent the late afternoon back at the campsite, again, fully taking advantage of the warmer weather. That evening, we attempted to drive to Cottonwood for a meeting, but when we arrived, there was no one else there. So we took time on the drive back to share what we were grateful for. Sunday night we spent time around our biggest fire yet and enjoyed the full moon overhead.
Monday morning we woke up early, packed, took time for an end of trip meeting, and drove back to Flagstaff. Overall, it was a great trip. There was a nice balance of physical challenge, group engagement, and personal rest.
Love,
The Boys of B2B
