Dear Families,

The boys took off this weekend on quite the excursion. Viva Las Vegas (no gambling was allowed). We camped near Vegas and explored around Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire State Park. Some of the crew had never been to Las Vegas so they got to check it off their list of places to see. Everyone was in great spirits even after the 4 hour drive.

Friday, We packed up the vans and headed out around 12. After quite the drive, we arrived in Las Vegas where we took a detour and drove down the entire Las Vegas Downtown and Las Vegas Strip. Everyone was pretty amazed at all the sites to be seen. It was still daylight so the Vegas lights not being on left for something to be wanted for. Still to everyone’s surprise there was as always action on the Strip. No, not the usual magicians, three card monte, but, a car wreck really started our Friday afternoon. We had to stop because a BMW had crashed into the center median. With cops and pedestrians everywhere, we couldn’t move. We had front row seats to the action thriller that was about to unfold in front of us. The car caught on fire with the man trapped inside and passerbyes quickly jumped into action to try and save the man from his burning car. The heroic patrons tried and tried to break the window with no luck. Eventually, the glass was broken but they couldn’t pull the man out from the passenger side of the car. They then went around to the drivers side and opened the driver door. The driver was pulled to safety just as the entire car was engulfed in gas fueled flames. His life was saved just in time. We then moved along and made it to our basecamp where everyone pretty much set up camp and their tents and went to sleep relatively early.

Saturday, we were up and at it. We drove about an hour to the Valley of Fire state park and morale was high for the hike. It was a gorgeous area of Nevada and everyone did well on the hike. Some of the clients went on a more strenuous and rewarding hike while others enjoyed the scenic route that was a little easier. We got a new client that really gets along with the group well and did a great job on his first hike all around. After the hike, we headed back to base camp to get ready for a meeting in Las Vegas. This was a speaker meeting who was very entertaining and at the same time was very intense and made great points. After the meeting we again drove through the Las Vegas Strip. This time at night so everyone got to see the amazing lights of Vegas. After going through the strip we headed back to camp and hit the sack.

Sunday, we all got up and around, packed up the camp and headed back over to Red Rock Canyon where everyone did some bouldering. Bouldering is difficult climb with a max of about 8-10 feet of elevation. Oli brought a pad to make sure nobody was seriously injured as well as climbing shoes that he so graciously let everyone share. Most everyone participated in climbing to find out that this is incredibly difficult. Everyone had fun and some of the guys were successful on some of the easier climbs. There was a lot of other groups out there that allowed some of the guys to fraternize with the avid bouldering community. After having quite the strenuous workout, we all loaded back up in the van and head home to the cold weather of Flagstaff and had some fresh snow waiting for us.

Always good to be back at Hunter regardless the conditions. A cup of coffee, a warm shower, and some fresh clothes is always something to be grateful of. Everyone was warn out and a little banged up when we returned but everyone was in good spirits overall. Everyone continues to grow along healthy lines weekly and enjoying the weekend trips more and more each and every week. All the guys are thankful for all of your love and support through this grueling process to improve their lives. Looking forward to next weeks trip to another undisclosed location. Keep your eyes peeled for next weeks update when we tell you about yet another B2B Outdoor Adventure.

Warm Regards,
The Boys
