Dear Families,

This weekend we had an eventful journey to the Grand Canyon. We camped at Mathers Campground on the South Rim. We started our trip off by setting up camp in the rain and learning how to build a tarp shelter. Later that day, when it started snowing, we made our way over to the visitor’s center to learn more about the Grand Canyon. We learned all about the different rock layers the canyon is comprised of. We were going to learn about the ancient cultures and structures in the Grand Canyon, but unfortunately, the projector broke down 10 minutes into the film. We headed back to camp, ate good food, and went to bed. The next day when we woke up it was still snowing, harder than the day before. We ate breakfast and waited for the weather to clear up. When it finally did, we made our way to the Grandview Trail. We started off on the hike and made it to a midway point known as “the saddle”. We sat there and journaled as it started to dump snow again. Because of the shifty weather, we made our way back up the trail and to the visitor’s center. We were hoping that we could see the film from the day before, but the projector was still broken. With our luck turned bad, we made our way back to Hunter and settled for a warm house and a trip to the gym. Despite our bad luck, we all had a great time and made the most of the unfortunate weather.

Until Next Time,
