The boys had another fantastic weekend. This time around we stayed in town in order to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday. To start our day off on Saturday we ate breakfast and went to an AA meeting at the Agape building. After many inspiring shares and stories at the meeting we grabbed our gear back at the Hunter House and headed to the incredible world famous Wupatki National Monument. There we were utterly flabbergasted by a seemingly impossible feat of nature and mankind. Not only did we get to learn and see first hand the ways of Native American ingenuity but also see an awesome feature of nature. This feature not only sucked, but also blew. Some call it the Blowhole. It is a hole in the ground that either blows out or sucks in air depending on the air pressure. When the air is cool and dense, then the air is sucked into the hole. It blows when it is warmer and less dense. The Natives believed it was a wind spirit that caused this phenomena. We played capture the flag and wrote in our journals while at the national monument. At this point we split up into two teams. One team set off for the Elden Slabs, where we scrambled up a mountain. In the meantime the others went around the Fat Man’s Loop. Then the boys went to the gym and ate dinner. On Sunday morning we ate breakfast and went to a men’s AA meeting at the Phoenix building. After that we went to the gym again. We came back to share what we wrote in our journal and start making dinner. There were burgers for the boys along with a cake to celebrate a team member’s birthday. The living room was alive with comradery as we were all piled close to watch the spectacle that was the Superbowl. On Monday the boys did a lot of cleaning followed by more cleaning. After some more cleaning, we had our long, productive community where we shared feedback and reflected on our weekend. That brings us to right now as we write this letter to you, the reader. We hope you had a great weekend as well.
Love,
The Boys
