Once we had taken in the beautiful views, we proceeded to hike from another spot down into the canyon. Our destination was White House Ruin which was an old hut build up against the canyon wall with another section built up above into the rock. Its cool to see and think about ways people would build structures with natural resources. At the end of our trail we sat and had some time to fellowship next to the white house. After some good time together we hiked back up to the van and set back to prepare dinner. We cooked up some stir fry and chopped wood into smaller pieces for our wood stoves.
The hogaans comforted us from the cold and we all cozied up inside the large structure for an A.A. meeting. We all caught some amazing sleep that night huddled next to our wood stoves. In the morning we packed up and set off early for the long drive ahead. Before getting to our house we stopped at the gym and and lifted for a bit. Another amazing trip down and Christmas coming up has the family in good spirits.
