First, we went to camp at the Manzanita campground near where we do our service commitments at Oak Creek. We got there around 10 a.m. and, unfortunately, we couldn’t set up camp until 2pm! Instead we decided to start our first (and only) hike. The hiking trail was called “The Crack’’. It was 7 miles round trip. We did an amazing cliff jump and we immediately began shivering once we hit the water. Talk about a polar dip! We then returned to camp where it was time to set up our tents. We played spike ball and threw the frisbee until it was dark. We cooked and ate dinner then we did a silent meditation and went to bed.
The next morning, we went to a Buddhist Stupa. Some said a prayer at the stupa and walked around it 3 times in their tradition, while others just checked out the view silently and maybe meditated a bit. We then went to a park where we played more spike ball and then did a sharing is caring group on our thoughts about what our plans are after residential. At 5:30 we went to an AA meeting in Sedona that we’ve never been to before. Everyone seemed to enjoy the meeting there. Shortly, after we got back to camp where we hung out and talked a bit, then ate some dinner before bed. The next morning we woke and made a great breakfast, packed up camp and headed back to hunter house.
Until next time,
Resident D
