Young Men on Mt Humphreys

Dear Families,

This weekend the B2B clients took a trip to hike Mt.Humphreys and to the Coconino National Forest to do volunteer work with the U.S. Forest Service. The first day of the trip The guys took a half hour drive to the trail head of Mt. Humphreys and hiked over 4 miles to get to the saddle of the mountain where at the top experienced some bad weather conditions and headed back down the mountain after journaling up in the saddle. The boys found camp by Lake Mary, made burgers and dogs, then had an A.A. meeting before hitting the hay on the first night.

Day two of the trip the guys met up with some rangers with the U.S. Forest Service and some parks and Recreation officers to get a run down for what the volunteer work was to look like. The clients worked hard 5 hours in the hot sun and 85 degree weather cutting and grooming new trails for the day. after a hard days work we all headed to Lake Mary to go cool off in some cold water and to relax for the rest of the day before cooking dinner and going to an A.A. meeting in town. The last day of the trip was a later wake up for the boys around 7:30 a.m., where they made bacon and eggs before meeting up with the Forest Service for 2 more hours of trail work before heading back into town to continue the in town schedule.
