Our latest adventures as recounted by a client journalist:

Dear Friends And Families,

This week we went on a six day river trip on the Colorado river outside of Moab, Utah. We camped for five nights and rafted for four days. In addition to the clients and the outdoor guides and coordinator, Kelly, there were also three guys from transition and a few staff members who joined the trip. In total there were 19 people on the trip which made for a very special and memorable experience. We had many different ways to float down the river that we all got to try including a large raft, several single and double person duckies, two paddle boards and a blow up unicorn tube which turned some heads on the river.

The first day the campsites were full and we ended up camping on Sherman road, a few miles from the Colorado for one night while we waited for our desired camp spot to open up. The second day we set up the boats and rafted down on some flat water where we got to get used to the boats and rafts before we started doing the big rapids for the rest of the trip. We got to camp at a sick spot at Hittle Bottom campground right alongside the river. On the third day we set out on the river early and were able to catch a bunch of nice rapids. The last rapid was especially ferocious and two people had their boats flipped and had to get back onto their boats at the end of the rapid. Some of the people who were flipped were also helped by people who were closest to them which showed how quickly things can get serious in rapids like the ones we were running. The water was cold but the hot sun made a blast to be on the water. We spent much of the day have water fights and trying to flip each others boats.

On the third day of the trip three guys from transition showed up as well as three members of staff which brought our total number to 19. We broke out a costume bag and everyone wore goofy outfits on the river. It was great to spend time with some of the guys that we used to be in residential with and to see some of the residential staff on an outdoor trip. There was lots of dancing and hilarious posing. Client A from transition was also able to do a lot of filming which will hopefully document all that went on during the trip.

The fourth day of rafting was more of the same awesome rapids and water fights. By the end of it all we were all exhausted but everyone had an amazing time. The campsite we base camped at was beautiful and allowed for lots of games and great meals. When we journaled many of the guys from residential said it was their favorite outdoor trip so far and an experience they would never forget.
