Hello Families! This is ct T reporting live from the unseasonably warm, still snow free Flagstaff, AZ. This weekend, pigs grew wings and flew as the impossible happened! We had our second in town weekend in a row, due to the perfect storm of the holiday season, and several particularly nasty bugs that are thoroughly working over both clients and staff without discrimination. Nevertheless, the men here at B2B strive onward, having quite the enjoyable weekend…
Sunday morning, we awoke to the news that the trip to the Grand Canyon had been cancelled, which was met with reactions akin to waking up to a second Christmas (due to the steep hikes that would be encountered). After a hearty breakfast, we proceeded to the 9:00 Men’s AA meeting. Following that, the clanging of weights and grunts filled the air as we crushed the gym, though for some the only noises heard were the bubbles of the hot tub and silence of the steam room. Following the gym, we regrouped and returned to base to prepare for our next activity, some friendly (but highly competitive) sports at the fields at Northern Arizona University. Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, and some solid hackey sack took place, as did the occasional faceplant, fall, and other assorted shenanigans that take place when grown men attempt sports last played in middle school. Finally, we retired for a delicious meal of chicken wings and veggies, before falling asleep like the peaceful little angels we are.
Most of us slept in Monday morning (until about 8!), but unfortunately, my built in alarm clock had me up bright eyed and bushy tailed by 6:15. After almost 1 pot of coffee and multiple solo dance and ‘sing-alongs’ to the trusty iPod, the rest of the house got up and about, prepping for our Monday hike. After a quick 45 minute van ride, also known as nap time, we arrived at the trailhead in Sedona. After a leisurely 3.5 mile stroll and some slight drizzle, we arrived at “The Crack”. Despite sounding like the title of a B-List horror movie, it was quite a lovely little swimming hole, a favorite of both locals and travelers alike. However, since it was a little chilly, overcast, and the water was close to 45 degrees, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. However, Client D decided to jump in, promptly decided the water was pretty chilly, and was quickly helped back to dry land, to much laughter from the rest of us. After some journaling and exploring, we headed back. We ended our day with an in-house AA meeting and a horror movie. Client E, who will soon be graduating, shared his story. We followed the meeting with a scrumptious dinner of burgers, fries, chicken wings, and cheesy broccoli. Finally, we ended the night by scaring ourselves half to death with a highly rated horror movie from Netflix, then hid under our covers and jumped at sudden noises and shadows until we fell asleep.
Right now it is 2:54 on Tuesday afternoon as I write this. We just finished thoroughly sanitizing the house after an awesome gym ‘sesh’, where the gains were plentiful. I cannot predict the rest of the day, but I sense a disturbance in the force, and shenanigans are never far behind. Or maybe it’s just the fact that it might snow tonight… So, families, y’all have a great week, we look forward to meeting some of y’all soon on some upcoming family weekends, and until next time…
This is client T, over and out.
